Welcome to our new blog! I’m delighted to welcome you to our world, where heritage and innovation meet to bring unique creations to life.
At Meubles SGL, we’re proud to perpetuate the traditional art of the coat of arms, a strong symbol of our history and Quebec identity.
Our wall art is designed to bring a touch of nobility and authenticity to any space.
Join us as we explore how these historic emblems are transformed into decorative pieces of art, combining aesthetics and deep symbolism.
The Heritage of the Coat of Arms in Quebec
The art of coats of arms in Quebec reflects a rich tradition inherited from our ancestors, where each symbol and color embodies a part of our history and values.
Quebec artisans have preserved this tradition by integrating their unique know-how into murals that capture the essence of this ancestral art.
Murals by Quebec Artisans
Québec artisans, renowned for their expertise and passion, create murals that are more than mere representations; they are a tribute to our heritage.
These pieces are often commissioned by public institutions and corporations wishing to highlight their unique identity through powerful, evocative symbols.
The Symbolism of Coat-of-Arms Logos
A coat-of-arms logo is more than just a design; it embodies the identity and values of the organization it represents.
Whether it’s for the fire department, the military, the ambulance service or the police, each logo is designed to reflect loyalty, courage, integrity and dedication.
Coat of arms for Emergency and Security Services
The coats of arms of the fire, military, ambulance and police services are particularly evocative.
Each of these emblems is carefully designed to represent the specific challenges and commitments of these professions, honoring those who serve and protect our community.
Materials and Manufacturing Processes
The manufacture of these murals is an art in itself, involving the use of robust, noble materials.
Wood and steel are the main components, chosen for their durability and aesthetic beauty. Curved 3/16″ thick Canadian steel is used for cutting, giving a remarkable three-dimensional effect to the work.
To assemble these parts, a bolt is welded to the back of the steel cut-out, then a nut is screwed on to securely fasten the steel to the 1″ thick wooden frame.
This assembly guarantees the stability of the mural, which is then held in place by a steel cable and two 3/4″ thick ferrules, ensuring a safe and durable installation.
